Dr Michelle Lochner is a Resident Researcher at AIMS South Africa. This is a joint position which was made possible through a collaboration between SKA and AIMS South Africa. Dr Lochner obtained her undergraduate degree in Physics and Electronics from Rhodes University, before moving on to postgraduate studies at the University of Cape Town, where she ob-tained her PhD in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Bassett. Before coming to AIMS, she was a postdoctoral fellow at University College London, United Kingdom.
Her area of specialisation is in Statistics and Machine Learning applied to Astronomy and Cosmology.
